The IEA has discontinued providing data in the Beyond 2020 format (IVT files and through WDS). Data is now available through the .Stat Data Explorer, which also allows users to export data in Excel and CSV formats.

IEA analysis based on US AFDC, EAFO, Eco-Movement. Urban areas for Europe are taken from the Functional Urban Areas of 2020 and consists of the city and the commuting zone, urban areas for the United States are the Census Populated Place Areas from the US Energy Atlas.

Dark colours represent fast chargers and light colours slow chargers. Chargers less than or equal to 22 kW are defined as slow; fast-chargers are over 22 kW.
